This is a very interesting take on life's struggles and how to overcome them. I can definitely say that as a migrant, and being around a couple of different places, a sense of belonging, and acceptance is often hard. I can understand most people don't get how hard it is to migrate, leave everything behind and basically start from scratch, specially when you are not that young! lol. Isolation is a big issue when being a foreigner, despite the fact I have been here for 10 years I am and always be one.
ReplyDeleteI can also relate to that teaching experience, I had no formal training and had to get into teaching, cause it was the only way to survive and move forward, from teaching music, to English to Spanish it was always a learning curve full of doubt and anxiety since most times I had no idea if what I was doing worked, or if I was even close to be a decent teacher.
I appreciate you sharing your insights, and is definitely true that after all the big or small achievements there is a huge story for everyone, no story is less or more important or with more or less struggles since everyone lives it in its own way. Is always good to know that people can overcome this and keep going, as you have done, and I would like to think that in a way those of us who have left our countries, for whatever reason, have a different outlook on life and how to deal with its situations, as clearly you have done by not giving up and carrying on, despite the toxicity and self doubt.
